The Job
A physical job that’s perfect for self-starter, the Drillers Helper assists in obtaining core samples safely and efficiently. The Drillers Helper Training Program is a paid course that offers field placement upon successful completion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Work alongside and learn from an experienced Driller.
- Handle drill rods, weighing approximately 80 lbs.
- Empty core tubes, weighing approximately 100 lbs.
- Assist with set-up and operation of drill and support equipment.
- Monitor supply stock levels for equipment and operations.
- Assist with maintenance and repair or drill and support equipment.
- Organize and clean the drill site.
- Always focus on personal and drill site safety.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Setting
You’ll work on mineral exploration drill sites across Canada where your “office” could be the rugged mountains of BC, the forests of Northern Saskatchewan, or an underground mine in Ontario. Wherever you may be, you’ll experience unique terrain that many people never get a chance to see in their lifetime.
The Schedule
Work hard and have quality time off. Site roles require 12-hour work days while living in a camp environment. Scheduled days off leave plenty of time for travel or other pursuits. The typical schedule is 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. You will alternate between day shift and night shift each time you get sent out on a job. Hy-Tech Drilling covers all work-related costs including travel, meals, and accommodations.
What You Need
Although experience is an asset, no formal training is necessary. You will need to be fit for work and complete the pre-employment process. You’ll need to be a fast learner with a good attitude, an effective communicator, and eager to work in a physical role. Mechanical aptitude is an asset. A valid drivers license and drivers abstract are required. Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C is preferred.
