Smithers, B.C. — July 23, 2025 — An incident involving ground fall occurred on July 22 at a non-producing project at the Red Chris Mine in northwestern British Columbia, as shared through an official statement by the mine operator, Newmont. Three Hy-Tech Drilling employees were working in the mine at the time, and remain underground at the time of writing. 

We are working closely with Newmont and emergency response partners to support every aspect of the ongoing efforts. Our Critical Incident Response (CIR) Team is fully activated. Hy-Tech leadership is on site, and we remain in direct contact with the families of those involved.

We take incidents of this nature extremely seriously. The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority, and our emergency protocols were activated immediately.
